Hi Bill and all.

I have a vague memory of that Star Trek packet prog in the early 90s ,
tried it then gave up in favour of TPK until I was forced to use Winpack
because of it's Telnet option when I moved into an area where aerials are
banned in 2003.

I am too a long term SF reader starting with Jules Verne's Clipper of the
Clouds as a small boy. I have never really found anything on TV which
matched up to all the books I have read. B5 was best with ST coming a
close second but other series such as Battlestar Galactica, Blake's 7,
Buck Rogers etc. were abysmal !

Of the films, Asimovs Bicentennial Man was good though it had a scmalzy
ending not in the book. I have never watched Doctor Who on principle,
since catching part of the first episode. I have often though that some
big work such as Asimov's Foundation trilogy would make a good film,
though they would probably have to dumb it down and add a few fights to
make it appeal
to most viewers. Slan by A.E. van Vogt would also make a good epic as
would his Weapon Shops of Isher.

I can't see anyone making them though.
