VK2ZRG/TPK 1.83d Msg #:1202 Date:12-02-05 Time:11:47Z

The VK2IO BBS crunched an earlier upload of this message. Sorry if you get
this twice.

VK2ZRG/TPK 1.83d Msg #:1201 Date:12-02-05 Time:10:34Z

Hello TPK users,
I've now finished my programme which I've called TPK-LIST. It
should work much the same as MAKELIST, as far as I tell from MAKELIST.DOC, and
has a few added features such as being able to `clean' a .LST file while new
headers are being added. Still haven't been able to get MAKELIST to add any
headers.

There has been some feedback that has allowed me to make improvements. Thank
you Brian in VK3. Did you receive the new version that fixes your colour change
problem? If Frank in ZL3 is reading this, please let me know at what point of
the programme you get the error message. I've sent 2 SP messages but heard
nothing more from you. Also nothing heard from Frank in Orange. Did the 7+
files arrive in Orange Frank?

Packet radio in this neck of the woods is still somewhat chaotic, although
VK2WI is now back on air. SP messages don't seem to be getting through. I sent
SP replies to Murray and David in ZL3 and to Jean-Claude but again, nothing
heard.

The `Beta' programme now achieves all of the items in my wish list,

There is a new function that allows you to change your `Home BBS' when adding
SP headers to your MSG_PRIV list. This allows TPK to automatically download
private mail from another BBS.

I would still like more info on other BBS list header formats after the
`L' command. I have info on this BBS software:

   FBB 7.00i and 7.00g
   F6FBB Mailbox and Server:- F6FBB-v7.04h
   F6FBB V7.00g25 (MsDos)

I've tried the programme running under windoze 98...it seems OK, and also
with the DOS portion of windoze me (aka DOS 8). There maybe a problem with
operation under windoze me...I don't have full details yet. As for xp...well
who knows?

The 'Beta' version is being sent out as SP mail to those who took the trouble
to reply to my earlier bulletins. No sense in putting out `useless 7plus'
bulletins on packet.

If you would like a copy of my programme, then I need some information from
YOU. I would like to know what version of FBB (or other software type) is in
use at your local BBS, and also, what version of TPK you are using. If you
send this info to me, then I'll send you a copy of the my programme.
As well as the FBB version, I would like a sample of the header list from
your local BBS, after issuing an L (list) command. If you connect to your BBS
and send LL2 (list last 2 message headers), you will get something like this.

Msg# TSLD Dim To @ BBS From Date/Time Title (LC-choice: *)
5429 B$ 3175 SPACE @WW ZL2VAL 1223/1656 NASA Hacker to do time
5428 B$ 2730 NEWS @WW M5WJF 1223/1655 Re: MAIN NEWS - 19th Dec 1/11

Save this output by using <ALT S> in TPK, and include it in your SP message
to me. (Do this, even if it looks the same as the above.)

This is what my `Beta' version does.

1 Has a menu to select BBS's / private mail list.
2 Works equally well for bulletins and private mail.
3 Isn't bothered with extraneous or duplicate lines in the capture file.
4 Isn't bothered with tagged message headers in original .LST file.
5 Automatically tags files, in the added headers, for download.
6 Removes headers for deleted bulletins/messages. (K prefix).
7 Removes headers older than a specified number of days.
8 Uses any directory name, on any disc drive by use of a config file.
9 Makes backup files for all files changed by the programme.
10 Doesn't need a separate programme to edit EXECAUTO.TPK.
11 Has a help file that you can read with <ALT H> in TPK.
(In addition to a full .DOC file.)
12 Works with any FBB version/TPK version, I think. (I would like more info on
   other BBS list formats)
13 Allows another BBS to be designated as `Home BBS' for SP mail.
14 Maintains the change of colour in your message lists for old and new
   headers.
