The best helping hand you are likely to find is the one at the
end of your arm.
Joe ZS6ANW wrote the following:
Robert ZS6YC acquired a PK232-MBX tnc with firmware Rom release 1 Aug
1991 from the estate of a deceased ham. He uses the tnc with a special
software program to work packet. However, this software program is very
basic and does not provide for the making a header list nor does it do
compressed forwarding of data to and from a BBS.
His last paragraph was:
We therefore would like to enquire if any packet user@ww uses the PK232
with TPK and perhaps can assist us in finding the cause of the "hanging
up" problem. We would highly appreciate any help.
I, personally, have never used TPK as I found it a pain to try and set
up. But I've used Winpack for some time now and feel sure that Robert
ZS6YC would find that that it, Winpack, will do all that Joe mentioned,
and more besides. I can only recommend Winpack as a very satified user.
I use this program with the PK232-MBX too and have had no problems with
it or Winpack to date. Regards and....
