VK5RY/TPK 1.83b Msg #:1939 Date:15-04-97 Time:14:35Z

Hi Folks, the installation of 1.83 is still proving a problem, mostly with
regard to Splitting 7+ files for transmission.

However, I think I have found the problem, but NOT the solution to it..

1.82 works perfectly, but 1.83 does not!
The reason is because 1.83 (on my system), uses heaps more memory and has
not enough available (apparently) to carry out the Split function..

Check the memory Table out:

Largest Free Upper Memory Block 83K (84,656 bytes)

(Note that this 146K is ample for the 7+ of files)!

So, there it is, the mot available in 1.83 is a miserable 94K and this is
why the 7+ function WILL NOT WORK!

Why does 1.83 take up more memory than 1.82? Is it that superior?

Everything that can be loaded HIGH in Autoexec.bat and Config.sys has been
loaded HIGH.

Any thoughts/ideas on improving this will make me HAPPY (I think)..
OH, I am using SW ON XMS in CONFIG.TPK, having tried EMS and TEMP>

Maybe one day I will get there...

Very 73 to all from 'Hairless Ron'...
