Fourier Transforms

Baron Joseph Fourier (1768-1830) was a French mathematician. His
method of analyzing waves, published in 1822, was a spinoff of his
work on the flow of heat. It shows how any wave can be built up from
simpler waves. This powerful branch of mathematics, Fourier
Transforms has contributed to important modern developments like
electronic speech recognition.
