You just dont listen to enough proper music to know that there are many,
many musicians using 50s and 60s gear to get the right sound.
Certainly, the blues guitarists that I enjoy are well into using old
50s/60s amps with paper cone speakers. I've seen about 12 groups in the
last year or so and only one lead guitarist was using a solid state amp.
