That was the standard sound for receiving an SMS text message, hence it sending
SMS. You use to be able to select a morse ring tone of CONNECTINGPEOPLE
aswell. This was first introduced by Nokia, I'm not sure if other
manufacturers offered SMS for SMS messages aswell.

My phone plays the sound of a cow mooing when my mother in law rings. The joke
being that the traditional English Music Hall joke about mothers-in-law doesnt
apply to mine!

I would imagine that those who are unfortunate to receive calls from The Dobber
have selected suitable ring tones aswell. Perhaps the sound of maniacal
laughter or possibly a toilet flushing?
