I cannot confirm this statement.
Unfortunatelly I do not know whether Felix is producing the digital modes with
a PTC or with a soundcard (I do so) but I have fixed a thick copper ribbon
(shield of a massiv coax) behind the whole station included the computer to the
ground.
ALL devises are conntected to it - and I never had any problems like introduced
by Felix.
What in my eyes is much more important: Control well the audio level from the
Soucncard to the interface and from the interface to the transmitter.
This was a problem I'd few days ago. Indicated by some one who permanentally
told me "dl8ol idiot, dl8ol idiot!" NO callsign off course.
Another very helpful German told me about yellow lines left and right to the
signal on the waterfall and took his time to advise me tuning down the level to
the ACC-plug.
After that procedure all was clear and I, asking other station later I became
told the clear signal now.
It is always said the ALC shall not move over the half of the scale.
I think this level even is too much. And what to do if you are using an IC-728
where only a LED shows probably overstearing??
Finally only! a correct audio level is solving that problem.
Often I read station telling me about 50 watts and more output. Why and for
what? Maximal 30 Watts by my experiences. Not the power is producing a good
signal but a small one, as small as possible.
My opinion, if I am wrong pse tell it in the gentle way!
Felix Einlassung, dass die Verbindungen Kabelschirm zu den Geräten
verantwortlich für eine Brummschleife ist kann ich nicht bestätigen.
Ich habe meine Station plus Interface und den Computer über eine dicke
Kupferleitung, die zur Erde führt verbunden.
Das Problem des schlechten Signales ist in der Regel ein viel zu hoher
Audio-Level von der Soundcard zum Interface und zum Sender.
Vor wenigen Tagen machte mich ein OM in sehr liebenswürdiger Weise auf ein
nicht optimales Signal aufmerksam, indem ermir permanent mitteilte, ich sei ein
Idiot. Sehr hilfreich, Rufzeichen sowieso Null.
Ein sehr hilfreicher deutscher OM, der das mitbekommen hatte machte mich drauf
aufmerksam, dass ich neben dem eigentlichen Signal noch weitere gelbe Linien
hätte.
Mit seiner Hilfe habe ich dann Stück für Stück den Audiolevel verringert - und
gut ist es jetzt.
Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt, dass viele Stationen mit teilweise 50 Watt und
mehr senden.
Das aber ist bei den üblichen digitalen Modes schon zu viel und auch unnötig.
Je schmaler das Signal ist, um so deutlicher dringt es durch.
Es wird immer wieder beschrieben, dass die ALC nicht höher als die Hälfte der
Messanzeige sein soll.
Das aber ist bereits zu viel. Wobei ich bei meinem IC-728 nur die TX-LED als
Anzeige habe.
Also bei Problemen: Runter mit der Ansteurung und dann einen OM bitten, das
Signal im Wasserfall zu beobachten.
Noch einen Hinweis: Der IMD kann nur beurteilt werden, wenn man das Signal mal
ein paar Sekunden ohne Text stehen lässt.
Falls andere Meinungen: Die kann man bittesehr kundtun, ohne zu schreiben, dass
ich keine Ahnung hätte.
