	Re ACORN valves, my first venture into 166 now 144 megs, was with a one
valve super-regen and had on that dozens of contacts. Even the receiver
could be heard over a couple of hundred miles from mountain tops.
	However my only sighting of a wartime application, was for the use of
acorns in proximity fusing of anti aircraft shells. So they must have had
wonderful anti shock survival?
