It is not a new idea : Instead of rotating plates ,why not sliding pieces
of double sided PCB in between fixed plates by means of an electric screw
driver rotating a threaded spindle in a nut . The package of sliding
plates being kept apart from the stationary plates by means of grooved
polystyrene spacers. It was done by a PA station operator for an 80 -40 m
magnetic loop.

Also in 2005 they say the future is bright ; 2 of its challenges remaining
to be RENEWABLE ENERGY and LINUX.
