Here in Kent (south east England) we are now home to the largest wind farm
in the country. I've only just learnt that after 20 years the farm will
be decommisioned.
So what was the point ?
So in 20 years time there will be yet another load of rusting and abandoned
structures littering the Thames Estuary along with the abandoned Army
and Navy forts from WW2 presnting a danger to shipping.
Hardly *sustainable* renewable energy is it.
Pah!
As an aside to this - the company constructing the windfarm were using
a seabed surveying system which just so happened to be transmitting a
high ERP signal on our local repeater input frequency !
OFCOM made a bit of a boob licencing the system for use around here ;)
The repeater keeper was not amused.
