..for Alkaline types??? ...they are not rechargeble, so why recover?
Indeed, Nicads are and can go down due to internal short that "grows".
That short can "burned" away with a big elco or the plan showed.
In fact the plan is not needed, just give the cell a short tick.
It worked already a lot of times here. But, remember: just a short tick!
