A motor running with 2000 rpm in first gear will let you move with 
about 10-15 km/h (7-10 mph), depending of the gear ratio which varies from 
car to car (but not much).
With 2000 rpm in fifth (highest) gear my car runs about 65 km/h (40 mph).
70 mph (112 km/h) require about 3500 rpm on the engine then.
Top speed with 6000 rpm is 190 km/h, and you can go that legally here :-)
