This sort of problem tends to manifest itself mostly when seperate cells
are being used such as when using the empty cell cases for handhelds or
as I have found when cells are in the FT290.
The usual supplied and hardwired cell packs with just the two terminals
are not much of a problem.
I was surprised when I held the FT290 in various positions how the note
changed whilst listening to the GB3VHF beacon and this is what alerted me
to it.
I'll see how it goes, but if I'm not satisfied with the reliability of
using cells in holders I think I'll opt for building a cell packet out
of tagged and soldered cells instead.
I hope this makes sense ?
Has anyone else come across this problem ?
