Hi Henry and readers,
I must assume the TO field refers to the famous Scopes "monkey" trial in
which Darwinism and Creationism went head to head in a US court. The
outcome was actually indeterminate, no outcome really, each remains as
bull headed as the other.
That's the whole trouble, both are subject to interpretation, scholars
religious and otherwise have been proven wrong time after time as new
evidence comes to light. That's why much has been supressed in an effort
to maintain the status quo and retain power. When will it ever end? Will
there ever be a meeting of the minds and they'll discover they're BOTH
right each in their own ways or will Armageddon put an end to all the
senseless squabbling?
I think the "enlightened ones" you refer to are the Gnostics who seem to
have a third point of view altogether. IMHO, they think too much! That's
just my outlook, when you think too much and have too little to think
about the result is confusion. Philosophy is a slippery rocks religion.
As for me, I don't care if a giant turtle carries the world on it's back
or it's some guy named Atlas, as long as it stays up there I'm happy.
