Sounds like tosh to me having used 16MHz devices where originally 6MHz ones
were fitted. (16MHz were available for less than 6MHz!)

You need a better search engine then :-)

You can get them from Farnell Components. Originally a UK supplier, they
now have worldwide outlets. Goto www.farnell.com and click on your
country's flag. Then type 8530 into the search box. They stock both 8 and
6MHz devices but make sure you order 40pin DIP not 44pin PLCC packaging.

6MHz one of price is A$ 31.15. Minimum order quantity is 1.

From the T&CC...
"for Cash or Credit Card transactions a minimum charge of $10.00 plus
carriage and packing plus GST will apply."
