I must give Charles credit. He is singing EXACTLY the same song here
and on packet radio. I am saving the area I call home from reading anything
from Charles by holding them all. I went fishing at a place I can't reach
anything by vhf/uhf and the only news available is the BBC on 9590 KHz.

Got home and found 7 held messages from Charles. I read all 7 and
they said exactly the same thing. I arcived them for my own enjoyment in
later years.

Charles is convinced that the internet and tcp/ip are the root of
all evil. Since he uses the internet it is odd...but his message is that
Hams should not use the internet or tcp/ip. As Brian KO4KS points out there
is no law that says a Ham should never use anything but Radio.

In any case Charles is writing like a man who has a vision of some
terrible event in the future where Ham Radio dies because some Hams use the
Gateway system to forward pbbs traffic. In fact it is not even important
what we do with pbbs traffic.

What is important is how are we making new Hams? I do my part and as
a VE have made 40 new Hams so far this year. They will all show up on our
voice repeaters and 10% will become tek+ or even General class. Maybe one
will get a Baycom modem and try packet.

So the important thing is making new Hams and getting them into
packet radio. Whether the messages come by Gateway or "pure radio" is of
zero interest to this user.

Since I have put up more RF links in the Tampa area than ANY other TWO
hams put together, my "personal enjoyment" has FACTS to document anything
BUT the "destruction of Radio Links in the Amateur Radio digital network".

The many PBBS SYSOPS that I've elmered that have nothing to do with the
Internet (many of whom I supply their only source of PBBS traffic) would
have a hard time agreeing with me being a part of the "destruction of
Radio Links in the Amateur Radio digital network".

The ham clubs that I've supplied RF equipment to (so they could have
RF Packet stations and ROSE switches on the air) would have a good
laugh over your lies, too. The many switch-ops I help in maintaining
their sites would find this quite funny, too...

I would hazzard to say that more AX.25 frames pass to/from my personal PBBS
and ROSE switches each day over Amateur Radio that do over yours in
possibly a week.

Sorry, but you have no FACTS to assert your allegations toward me.

There is more RF AX.25 traffic in the Tampa area now, then there EVER was
prior to my setting up a gateway, and it has NOTHING to do with PBBS
forwarding. It is hams talking to other hams, in real time, using real
networking, not the crippled store-and-forward messaging service
improperly referred to as 'networking'.

Packet Radio is NOT just PBBS forwarding. In fact, that is one SMALL
application in comparison to the VAST uses that Packet is seeing. Too bad
you seem to have such tunnel vision.

PBBS forwarding started using obsolete technology 10 years ago, and the
'state of the art' in that area has seen LITTLE improvements. During the
same time period, the TCP/IP application base has grown tremendously, in
both ham-specific applications, and non-ham-specific applications.

It is too bad that *to you* Packet Radio is *simply* PBBS's and PBBS
forwarding! I guess if I had that narrow of a viewpoint of what Packet
Radio can do, I'd probably be defensive too!

As always, when those with a one-sided view towards things start their
over-generalizing of concepts and people, they lose sight of facts. Facts
get in the way. It's far easier to lump people into groups, attempt to
pit 'class warfare' (us vs. them) and to lower to making personal attacks
and namecalling.

If you are attempting to show an example of one, with your namecalling,
profanity, lies, personal attacks, and petty babbling....

No thanks!

Please take this off-topic thread back to the PBBS debate thread where it
belongs. TCP-GROUP is the name of this mailing list.

Direct further lies to Charles' dreamworld.........
