A friend just said he saw on Ebay a sale of 218 MHz packet radios for $x
and antennas and so forth.
I cannot find them.
Maybe they are gone.
But I hear the big commercial endeavour that took the 220 Frequencies FROM
us went bust, so these packet systems might start shwing up on ebay and
hamfests.
I have no clue about this stuff. Just passing along a rumor... Bob

New version of PMmap is now on line.
Whats New:
Version 1.01
Added support for Peet Bothers Weather Stations. You can now hook up the
following Peet Brothers Weather Stations. Ultimeter 2000, 800 and 100. Note
you can only use Peet Brothers Packet Mode.
If you have version 1.00 running on your pc and want to use version 1.01
then the pmmapugrade.zip file is for you. Just follow the instructions on
my Web Site.

PMmap when connected to a weather station formats and sends the complete
APRS time stamped weather packet. So PMmap is compatible with the Kenwood
APRS radios.
I do not own a Weather Station. The way I tested this new feature was by
using Findu to capture $UTLW packets from WA1LOU. Thanks Stan for the idea.
I then connected two PC. On one PC I had PMmap running with com1 connected
to an Alinco DR-135T. Com2 on this PC was connected via a Null Modem to
another PC. This PC acted like a weather station. I took the captured
packets and made separate files out of each packet. Then using windows
terminal program sent each file (Packet) to the PMmap PC one at a time.
I then went again to Findu to look at my weather packets that PMmap sent.
Findu decoded the packets just fine.
In other words this new feature has not had the rigorous testing that I
normally do before releasing software. Your mileage may very.
Please let me know how everything works out.

equipment may be sold as surplus, the FCC is trying very hard to find a
user for the frequencies.
