RIght now there is a video on NASA TV about Amateur Balloon launches.

It will be too late when you get this Email, but they do replay them... It
goes into some detail about APRS and Repeaters, I think I even saw Cliff
in one of the views. THough another clip was clearly in Arizona.

Images of the D7, GPS and D700's are prominent, etc.. Looks like it was
produced in Arizona...

I am using 2.61. In checking the TAPR site I see that 2.72 is now available
but the latest update is 2.61. Is there in fact no update to go from 2.61
to 2.72?

Thanks

Glenn,

In checking my previous downloads of WinAPRS, I did not find that there ever
was an update from WinAPRS Version 2.6.x to 2.7.x. I believe the changes
may have been too numerous to do just an update. An update file is
generally only a new WinAPRS.exe file.

If you are a devoted WinAPRS user like myself, I would suggest that you go
ahead and download the entire program of 2.7.2 that is available on the web.
My favorite APRS download site is: http://www.tawg.org/

They have all the various APRS platforms available at this site and lots of
general info and help files. Go check it out.

Mark Sproul has been working on updating WinAPRS with Tiger Maps and I am
presently beta testing his latest version. Not sure when it will be ready
for National release but if you would like a beta copy of version 2.7.4 let
me know and I will email you the zipped exe file.

Also, Mark has told me that the registration fee has been dropped to $50
even thought the program still states $60.

Yes, WinAPRS is still alive and well and still my APRS platform of choice
especially for SAR activities. I know there is lots of other opinions on my
latter statement but so far I still think that WinAPRS is the easiest
Windows platform to use especially for non-regular computer users.
