Am I mistaken, or is this a D7A poking out of the pocket of this vest?

The serial port handshake and status lines are intended to be
logic-level signal lines, not power sources! I seriously doubt that
you can get enough CURRENT (75-100 mA) out of them to power a GPS
receiver.....

While at Best Buy I noticed they sold a USB hub that was powered off the
USB line itself. You plugged the hub into *BOTH* USB ports on your
PC/Laptop and the box claimed you did not need AC power for the hub
because it was drawing double the allowed USB current.

You must be able to get enough current to do some electronic work. Im just
not sure how much.

No its not a D7 if you look at it, it has two knobs on the top and the
display is shorter

I sent the email below to Steve, but since he may be busy, I wonder if
anyone else is seeing problems connecting to the findu mySQL database.

===========
My weather page which relies on findu.com mySQL database stopped working
sometime Sunday (1/25). It has worked fine for years. I get the ERROR 1030:
Got error 134 table handler;

Researching this, I find virtually all calls fail, but K35D
select * from weather where call = 'W9IF-4' limit 1; <-- fails
select * from weather where call = 'K35D' limit 1; <-- works
select * from weather where call = 'K35D' limit 2; <-- works
select * from weather where call = 'K35D' limit 3; <-- fails

All of APRSdos SYMBOLS are scalable vector graphic (though I was not aware
of the term)... THey are drawn line by line and some of them scale and
some of them rotate (top down views of the BOAT, CAR, TRUCK, AIRPLANES,
HANG GLIDER, and TRIANGLE) all point in the direction of travel. Also
then, they can show the 8 attribute colors for FIXED, MOVING, OLD, DEAD
RECKOKNED, OBJECT, your_OBJECT, DIGI, MOVED, KILLED, etc.

Been doing work on the tables, this is now fixed.

Well, I think vector graphics in general are usually scalable... but I'm
referring specifically to the W3C recommendation for the SVG language - see
http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/.

APRSSIG,

I spent a few hours today working on aprsworld.net stuff.

----------
Wind chill is now implemented on the weather station display page. I have it
so if the temperature is greater than 40(F) or the speed in < 5(MPH) it will
not calculate wind chill.

----------
I put a super simple web interface on the archive.aprsworld.net system. By
going to this URL you will get back a text file with hourly weather data from
a weather station. It's fast, approximately less than 20 seconds.

http://archive.aprsworld.net/weather/getStation.php?call=kb0vyo-12

Or you can go to this URL and get dumps of your car or anything else with
position. It is slower because it has much much more data to go through.

http://archive.aprsworld.net/position/getStation.php?call=k0ny-7

---------
Large lakes have been added to the regional map display on maps.aprsworld.net.
The Great Lakes, The Great Salt Lake, Lake Tahoe, ect are in this. Makes the
maps look a little better.

--------
I brought in a new symbol set from Xastir (thanks Xastir developers). It
should be entirely correct. Please check your stations and see if there are
any problems. This is my system wide icon / symbol data, so both maps and
datamart stuff is updated.

--------
Discovered that the parser was not handling compressed packets correctly. That
is now mostly fixed, in that compressed position packets should work fine. I
did notice that there are some weather stations with compressed position
data. I didn't know that was possible, but it appears to be and it appears
that UIVIEW32 does that. So I'll need to get that working.

That's good! Curt, WE7U and others have been keeping up with the symbols.
UI-View should be up to date as well.....maybe with an exception of current
discussions going on elsewhere.

Kewl! I'll go check it out!

FYI....my weather station uses Compressed UI-View32 position data and your
system seems to be handling it fine.
