People
I am wanting some help in decoding data extracted from a garmin eTrex. I am
downloading the positions in GARMIN BINARY format using VB code, and putting
the data into a string. I have removed all the escape characters ETC. I just
need help converting the string into a couple of DOUBLE's for LAT and LONG.
Can anyone help please?
Many thanks
Darryl

I never noticed. I ususally just always replay all.
But it does remember the last call entered. SO once you have entereed a
call, then I guess I gave you no mechanism to replace it with "ALL"...
Ill add it to the list.

I am currently running a via 1Ghz Falcon CR53 ITX Computer with a Gyration
Mobile Mouse and keyboard. I am using a Xenarc 7" TSV touch screen. I chose
UI_View with Precision Maps Version 6. My Radio is a Kenwood D700 connected
to a Radio Shack Digi Traveler GPS.
I have had a few problems one being the touch screen is USB and does not
like having to be on a 16' extension? As for Power supply I am using a
500watt inverter which is a little unstable at times and the computer BIOS
suffers and needs to be wiped and rewritten every couple weeks. This
monitor also has 2 RCA NTSC/PAL Video inputs which my wife has fun
monopolizing whatching DVD's or soap operas on the TV tuner!

I have had this happen with both ver5.0 and 6.0 under Windows XP Home and
Proffesional. Undertow seems unaware that this problem exists. In the end it
has not seemed to hurt the function.

I use the standard Ram mount for my D700.If you just use the D700's factory
mount just the piece that slides into the radio head you can bend the two
mount tabs flat and they line up nicely with the ram mount.I then use a
suction cup on the other end for when I rent vehicles or travel for work
which is very often. This Ram system is more adjustable and the suction cup
(after being broke in) holds better than the Panavise I have.
I ordered these through xxxxxxxxxxx .

USB is spec'd with a 2 meter max cable length. You can add hubs to extend
this.

Good info. Yes, that is why I think we need to make more use of the
TRACEn-N parameter in our TNC's (for small values of N). THe new n-N
paradigm has lots of potential for serving as LANn-N's and LINKn-N's and
combinations of same. de WB4APR, Bob

Hello to all, I am new to the group.
I have a question concerning using the internet connection for APRS. I
would like to be able to monitor my local APRS activity at work (where I
have no option for using an RF link) via the internet. However, I end up
with thousands of stations showing up from all over the world. Is there
any way to restrict the stations showing up to only those within a certain
distance? I have been using WinAPRS so far.
Thanks,
Rick

Connect to a javAPRSSrvr port 14580 and send a message to SERVER with a
filter command. See
http://www.aprs-is.net/javAPRSSrvr/serveradjunct.htm for more
information. All core servers except first and all aprs2.net servers
support this port. There is a list at
http://www.aprs-is.net/APRSServers.htm
Hope this helps.

Or a powered repeater cable.
I'm very interested in this sort of setup.
I use a powered repeater cable in ete-9 between the edgeport in back, and
the laptop in the front.
One tip, make sure the ends that plug a lot aren't embedded.
