This may, or may not turn off reliably.
If it works for you, at normal temperatures, you got lucky.
Normally, you'd add a resistor between the base and emitter, so that at the
guaranteed maximum "low" output voltage, the transistor is still off.
A series diode is also sometimes used.
The 2N7000 has a gate threshold voltage matched to CMOS/TTL logic output
levels, which is why it's popular in this role.

Is there a way to filter the APRS-IS to just show Satellite Users or just
those users on PCSat (NO-44)?
Thanks,

Subject: Pathing - "APRS...", "GPS..." ??

Just when I thought that I understood how to set UNPROTO and LTP on my
KCP-3+, I took another close look at the settings and realized that I have
no idea what the first part (e.g., "APRS via...", etc.) of the path
actually means.
Can someone please explain this -- specifically, the differences between
"APRS..." and "GPS..." and how this should be set?
Thanks much!

An adaptive beacon rate algorithm is next on my list for the OpenTracker,
so I went and looked up the SmartBeaconing algorithm used by the HamHUD and
along the heading you were following at that
point.
My question is, do existing trackers really do this? Are they calculating
the angle, or just going by the indicated heading? I think that'd be fine
for most purposes, but if you were to take a dogleg in your course and
return to your original heading before the next beacon, the tracker
wouldn't notice.
Thanks...
Scott

Having relocated the Peet system from the house out to the barn to get
into a clear area for wind I found the Peet no longer functioned in Data
Logging mode. Now after 2 days of rechecking my cables and connections
(about 300 ft) I used the 4.7K pull up trick between pins 2 and 3 of the
DB-9 connector going to the computer and it is working great. So if you
have a long run keep this in mind.

There is only one -- APRSce (a similar sounding program, Pocket APRS,
confusingly, only runs on the Palm OS).
Go to:

and
