Yes, another mindless power pole debate, totally off topic. Hopefully, the
moderator will put an end to our misery<g>.

I do it the opposite way, to make sure that I don't get solder up at the
tip of the connector. I angle it so that the tip is slightly up, and add
solder at the end of the wire barrel. Have to be careful to not get solder
too far down the wire though, so I don't angle it much.

Love these connectors BTW. Best connectors I've seen for this purpose in
all my life. I've been dissatisfied with everything else I've tried
through the years.

We need a local source for them. Wish the ham stores or RS would carry
them.

Anderson Powerpoles are available with cigarette lighter plugs for powering
many rigs. www.powerwerx.com is a site to look at. Can get many if not all
the cables you need to power anything. Cords without the "poles" are
available there with the standard "T" connector many 2M and dual band
mobiles have as well. I bought two sets recently to keep spare rigs
available for EMCOMM use.

Hi Henk,

I don't know about a fiasco as it seems most are of the same mind. And
I've learned quite a bit from the comments so far. Of course we can
always go back to whether or not APRS users should be informed. But that
is another story. "I love it when a plan comes together", or people :)

fi-as-co (fee as'koh or, esp. for 2, -ä'skoh) n. pl. <-cos,
                      -coes>
                 1. a complete and ignominious failure.
                 2. a round-bottomed wine bottle, esp. one
                      having a basketlike covering.
            [1850-55; < It: lit., bottle < Gmc (see FLASK;
sense " failure " from It idiom far fiasco to
fail, lit., to make a bottle, of uncert. orig.]

Standards are put together for a reason. If you do not want to cooperate
that is up to you. And if all you want to do is add negative commentary,
that is up to you too. All I know is BS is BS and I am glad to see
positive comments on this SIG. They are much more productive. Bringing
this back to APRS, hi Stan, my APRS GPS has APP connectors on it, along
with all the other equipment. ;)

Kind regards,

Vince ;)
