Shhh! It's supposed to stay a secret.
In the example packet you gave, they started with 7 WIDEn-N type hops
available and used _none_ of them to reach you. Typical.

For the last week or so, every time I make a post to the list, the post
appears normally --AND-- I get the idiotic message above.

What's going on?

This path uses NASA gravitational-assist slingshot technique to route the
packet via the moon, Mars, Jupiter, back back past the Sun to Venus, and
then back to an Igate on Earth.....

You should look at Undertows Maptivate developers toolkit. It has functions
to allow you to obtain (with some work) all of the raw vector data. It also
reads shp and mid/mif files as well as it's own proprietary format.

PMap allows you to modify the map display aspect ratio to obtain different
projections. For example, when set to the cosine of the latitude at the
center of the map, range circles will display as circles, not ellipses.
This causes some distortion when zoomed out, but is not noticeable when
zoomed in.

The MapPro60.cfg file contains:
[Modules]
ASP=1.000

I set ASP to 0.747 for use at 41.5N.

BTW, I understand that Undertow will be releasing a PMap version (using GDT
data) for Canada.

Look really hard at who you are sending the message too! Odds are you are
sending two copies of the same message!

Hey! maybe we could use that concept....I wonder if I set a path of

Has any one in GPS Land come up with a NE567 tone decoder chip tuned to
either the mark or space tone or XR2211 chip with CD which will delay a
simple tracker from transmitting thus preventing collisions in a
metropolitan ham area? The TT 3 and PIC-E have advantages for space and
power when used in a portable or temp. application. Thanks.

The TT3 already uses a simple energy detect to avoid collisions - not sure
how well it actually works, but I can at least get the busy light to come on
when the squelch opens.

I'll probably be making a version of my tracker that uses an XR2211
(actually it's the NJM2211 I've got on hand) so it can do antitracker-type
waypoint displays on the GPS.

I'm thinking of trying an experiment with one of the spare A/D inputs on the
tracker. It ought to be possible to set it up for zero crossing detection
and at least detect carrier on an open squelch. Decoding might be more
difficult. Anyone written a software-based FSK decoder for an 8-bit MCU
before?

There was a QST article in Feburary 2002 on putting a Tiny Trak inside
a data radio. The author added a real DCD circuit.

AIRPORT digis:

Was pleased to get out on APRS from Cincinatti airport and to see a RELAY
digi at the Louisville KY airport.

At Huntsville I couldn't receive anything thought I could look out the
window and see the Huntsville digipeater. I think there was a very high
level of QRM that was pinning my S-meter everywhere in the airport.
