That is what I've seen it here in West Texas with KPC3+ digis.
That is why the digi operator removed the RELAY function.
It was creating many duplicate packets when the digi heard the relay packet
direct. (ping-pong effect).

This could be the correct answer to the problem.

Is there any place on the web that has SPECIFIC examples of HOW-TO
correctly program each model/version of TNC for APRS digi use? I feel a big
problem in the APRS community is interpretation of what individuals say or
write about digi setup. Nothing would be left to question if a COMPLETE
list of the proper settings could be shared.

Bob,
I have one of these units and find it very well designed. It is not
however lending itself well to APRS weather station. The base unit talks to
the computer via RS-232 but the code is not readily avaliable from anyone I
could find at LaCrosse. It appears the information you (we) need is in
France. I have ask the same question to this list a few weeks ago and have
the same response you did (or have to date).
There is a club http://www.qsl.net/k4mqf/aprs.htm that says they have one up
and running, but the links from their web site are dead ends and the e-mail
addresses are non-existant. If you get any info please share with me (us).

Anyone have any first-hand knowledge of the La Crosse Technology WS-2310
or WS-2315 wireless weather stations. I was in xx's this afternoon and
saw that they have the WS-2310 for $xxx. Looking around at a few places
on the net I find the average price to be over $xxx. Says it has a PC
interface but haven't found an online manual and little information on
the package at xx's to indicate much more than that it is a serial
connection to the PC. Date/Time is via WWVB.

Weather Display will read this unit or should read this unit anyway. You
can get Weather Display at http://www.weatherdisplay.com ... It has APRS
built into it, or you can just have it generate a file called wxnow.txt
which WinAPRS will then display and broadcast your wx info from your
type of wx station. It can also generate a webpage for you to share your
info with other's. Here is mine http://www.tawg.org/wx.html.htm You
don't need knowledge of html to do the webpage, just a place to host it...
I should add weather display is fully functional for 30 days and after
that you have to register it. Cost is $xx, which I think is a little for
all it has built into it...

I've been seeing this guy a lot on my IGATE:
aprs: fm W6AMH-5 to GPSHW via K6TZ-10* WIDE3 ctl UI pid=F0(Text) len 59
0000 $ULTW0000008B035D0001----000086A00001----010501F400000000..
aprs: fm W6AMH-5 to GPSHW via W6PVG-3* WIDE3-1 ctl UI pid=F0(Text) len 59
0000 $ULTW0000008B035D0001----000086A00001----010501F400000000..
The odd thing is, I never see him on findu, and aprsworld hasn't seen him
since the second. I didn't get a tcpdump to see if it was going out to the
IS, but with that path the packet should get to at least two other IGATEs.
Is the station perhaps never getting a position report into the system, and
would that keep him from appearing in the databases?

So it'd probably be safe to assume that he's transmitting positions locally
and doesn't realize the weather data is ranging far and wide and doing no
one any good?
Next question... anyone got an email address for him? Alan Heaberlin in
California City, according to QRZ, but no email.

Greetings from DCC!
I've restored the amateur 802.11 stations into the aprsworld.net database.
There was database corruption last month that caused me to purge the
database, but now all of you should be back.
Please make sure you are on the list correctly:

Let me know if you guys need anything -

PS - looking forward to seeing Ken's (NT7K) presentation tomorrow.
