I am kind of curious.....

What Local Tactical Communications does your local networks provide if you
subtract all the self-serving beacons and trace paths. Forget thinking
'network' it might not exist! Think Local Tactical communications when you
answer.

Weather data? What else? Where is the tactical information? As a service
provider....what can you offer your local county Incident Command in
regards to any local tactical information that could possibly do an
incident command any good that APRS in particular can supply?????

"Hey IC, looky here! I show 5 nodes on the map!" You think he'd care?
He'd ingest that info and dump it in about a milli-second.

"Hey IC, looky here! I just recieved an NWS Flood warning. I show 2
weather stations north of us 1 mile both showing wind exceeding 45 miles per
hour and rain at a rate of 17"/hr for a 30 minute period" I show the gaging
station just below those two stations has increase flow 500 CFS in the last
ten minutes. That creek heads straight for the old folks home 1 mile down
the road." You think he'd listen to that? He'd ingest that information and
it would be added to he other incoming resource data. He might actually
react to it and evactuate the old folks home base on all the data he has
ingested and knows about.!

Let me ask again -- what purpose do nodes serve in a network that
is all UNCONNECTED packets???

Thanks,
Earl
