Hello, sysops.
As noted in many years, the most common problem of old bulls re-sent
caused when some sysop not careful back to some of his older hard disc backup
and instantly run bbs system. Its bad behavior!
If you plans to run that back-ups, always before start of back-uped system do:
- disconnect all internet connections of that computer, CHECK it few times!
- start bbs system and start manually housekeeping procedure in bbs - it should
clear most of old mails, then check forward partner's queue not to have many
bulls waiting to fwd.
- if there are still many mails in queue, check your setting of max age
(live time) for bulls - these setting are exist in most of BBS s/w, adjust it
proper if need and run again mail clear procedure.
- only after do well all of noted above, re-connect all you lan/wlan connection
and start normal BBS operation.

Other recent case of resent same bulls was noted, it was done by replace
(or corruption) the BID with some 8-bit charsets: $:яяяяяяя and $:яяя
and third change to: $:ѕѕѕ
Its hard to track which system first was done that bug - unfortunately BPQ
bbs'es don't include BID in every R-lines, so only second and third change
was traceable:
