Hi Bob and all,
Oh boy, you argue over the silliest things. I said cricket isn't baseball
now didn't I? Like a baseball isn't hard, isn't stitched and won't knock
you silly if you catch one on your noggin. I've caught line drives bare
handed, sometimes an impromtu game as one ball, one bat and one glove dug
out of the boot of somebody's car. Hey, if it takes a cricket batsman to
get one going 100mph you wouldn't stand a chance here, a major league
pitcher throws in the 90s. Go home you bunch of wimps, come back when you
have er... spherical projectiles.
Aw cummon, now you compare football which is another apples and oranges
bit. You play air ball while we play CRUNCH ball. If you woosies came to
Giants Stadium we'd ship you home as bottles of catsup. You aught to know
by now America is a dangerous place...
Wait a minute... what's this about first base being close to the firing
line? I don't know how YOU play baseball but here a diamond isn't a
shooting range and we don't try to kill the first baseman. Guns on the
mind again I suppose. What do you mean the pitcher hurls in (I suppose
you mean his) direction without warning? Does he really need a warning
when the runner takes a lead to steal second and the pitcher may whirl
and whip one to him to tag the runner out? When the picher glances over
his left shoulder the first baseman just MIGHT expect a ball to come at
him pretty fast but on the other hand you just might try to shoot him and
that's something that might come without warning.
I don't know Bob, you say America is a dangerous place but I'm not sure
I'd want to be anywhere in the park when an Ozzy baseball game turns into
a shooting match.
