No problem with me Bob on that point. Thats the proper way of
doing it. My father as mentioned did not want any medals due to
actions after Dunkirk which more then 75% of his comrades were killed.

He didn't even want the medals for Dunkirk... he wasn't a medal type
person.

Isn't that funny. I never wanted them either, and especially after
talking to him about his service. I know family members have been
after me to go after them, but no way. I respect his final wishes.

Well Bob, that is almost like the folks in CANADA. They bring up
the republic thing, every once and awhile, as as Prince Philip put
it ... Do it! It died last time like Quebec separation from CANADA.

As for the flag, that happened in the 1960s, and oh all the rubarb came
from ...well they were not from where my family came from...but they
got a ear and an election promise and it was carried out to the
flag Canada has today. I guess easy for kilds to draw it.

The Canadian Legion was dead set again changing the national flag
that had seen CANADA weather WW1 and WW2 and a few other wars.

The term used...was the Beer Store Flag. No real brainer, but a
RED Maple Leaf has a story to tell in the heraldry of flags and arms
and I shall leave it the rest of the packeteers to research.

As Ian says... final, final ... and from the studio days...
"Thats a Wrap"!

As an after thought you ever hear from Ian Hunt? I hope he is
doing well. I know why we never see him on packet anymore
and well that goes without saying, as we both know that story..eh
