CES JOURS LA, DANS L'EXPLORATION DE L'ESPACE
IL Y A 43 ans
Le 12 juillet 1961, lancement réussit du satellite
TIROS III (130 kg). Ce satellite météorologique
fonctionne bien. Il renvoi des images en continu
des zones survolées.
Lancement depuis Vandenberg du satellite d'alerte
MIDAS III (2200 kg) dont 1590 kg de charge utile.
Il est placé sur une orbite polaire de 2977 km.
Une première tentative de lancement avait échoué
il a 48 heures.
