CES JOURS LA, DANS L'EXPLORATION DE L'ESPACE
IL Y A 42 ans
Le 29 novembre 1961, lancement réussit depuis le Cap
Canaveral de la mission SC9 MA-5 (MA5= Mercury Atlas
numéro 5) avec le singe "Enos" à son bord ; la fusée
est une Atlas-93D.
- 16:30 locale USA, la fusée est mise à feu
- 16:34 le vaisseau spatial Mercury est en orbite
- 19:10 à la fin de la seconde orbite il y a des problèmes
mécanique sur Mercury, on parle d'écourter le vol (?)
- 19:20 que se passe-t-il, la capsule semble incontrôlable
- 19:25 le singe est surveillé en direct par une caméra de
télévision. Le vol va-t-il être arrêté ! Suspence...
- 19:45 finalement la récupération a lieu comme prévue à
la fin de la troisième orbite. Le singe semble en bonne
forme. C'est donc un succès malgré les alarmes survenues
en cours de vol.
Suite à ce succès les USA pensent envoyer leur premier
astronaute en orbite terrestre avant la fin de l'année
vers le 20 décembre (on pense que la NASA sélectionnera
John Glenn comme titulaire de cette mission Mercury).
En général il faut six semaines pour préparer un vol à
partir de la décision administrative.
Attendons, car le suspence porte sur le fait de savoir
si les USA lanceront un homme dans l'espace dans la
même année que Youri Gagarine ou alors la suivante ce
qui n'est pas pareil pour l'histoire !
