The Mars Pathfinder Mission to Mars has long been awaited.
Since its launch in December 1996, astronomers and enthusiasts
all over the planet have awaited the day, Friday, July 4, 1997.
The Mars Sojourner rover will descend into the Martian
atmosphere and land on the planet's surface.

We have put together a page of information and links on the Mars
Pathfinder Mission, which you can now access at
http://dhcom.com/astronomy/pathfinder.htm. This site will
continue to stay active well after the landing, providing
latest photos, news and information from NASA.

Estimates of 30 to 35 million hits per day are expected on the
Pathfinder mirror servers across the world, so this will be
quite an event. If you cannot access one of the links on our page,
due to internet traffic, please try this list of alternate sites, at
http://mpfwww.arc.nasa.gov/index.html. This contains many other
mirror sites, and their total load capacity per day. The largest,
at mars.sgi.com, can handle 15 million hits per day.
