Hi there..

We've been at it again - adding more updates to the Southgate Club's website,
which can be found at www.southgatearc.org

* The Internet is better than Packet *
This is not a statement one should make in front of Roger Cooke - G3LDI.
Read Roger's article, then see if you agree with him.

* The Secret Life of Cables *
Whether you're making-up an antenna feeder, wiring-up your home hi-fi system
or installing new mains wiring, finding the right cable for the job is very
important. This guide explains the different types and helps you pick the right
one for the job.

"Humour"
As ever, we've added another ten pages of humour, bringing the total to 70
pages of jokes, cartoons and comical photos for you to enjoy. Included in this
week's offerings is a section we've labelled "Things You Don't See Everyday",
which includes some rather nice photos - especially the one of the Scots Piper.
Click on Humour from our front page or go to www.southgatearc.org/humour

We are getting extremely low on good jokes and humour pictures/cartoons, so if
you do have any, then please send them in. All donations gratefully received!

"10-metres"
Tony Dixon, G4CJC continues to lurk the 10-metre band in search of that elusive
DX and has the latest on the band's condition.

* Morse Tutor Program *
This program appeared quite a while ago on the packet radio network, and was
one that I used quite often in an attempt to keep my speed up.
Following a hard disk crash here, I had thought that I'd lost it forever.
However, while searching through some backups recently, I was lucky enough
to find another copy.
This great little program - written by French amateur Gabriel Rivat F6DQM -
is very easy to install and use. You can even use it to key your transmitter,
so it's great for cw contests.
It's available for download on the Southgate site - so if you want to practice
your morse or just need to keep your speed up, then grab a copy now -
before I lose it again.

So, please drop in for a visit.
You'll find us at:

www.southgatearc.org

We're looking forward to your visit.
