Hi there..

We have more updates to the Southgate Club's website, which can be found
at   www.southgatearc.org

* Nuclear Attack *
This week, we visit one of Britain's largest, deepest and until recently, secret
installations - The Secret Nuclear Bunker at Kelvedon Hatch in Essex.
Built at the height of the Cold War period, this massive site, which is now
open to the public, would have been the seat of government in the event of a
nuclear attack. The Prime Minister and the Cabinet Ministers of the day would
have run the country from here - assuming of course that they never tried using
public transport to get to Kelvedon Hatch - (hi)

* Telecoms and Accessories *
Phones, fax machines and modems. These are all now commonplace in the
modern home. However, connecting them all together can be a problem.
This guide from Maplin Electronics shows you how, and guides you through
the process of installing your own telephone extension sockets.

"Humour"
As ever, we've added another ten pages of humour, bringing the total to 60
pages of jokes, cartoons and comical photos for you to enjoy. This week,
we've raided the vaults of gb7tut to bring you some of the classic humour
bulletins that have appeared over the years. So, if you need cheering-up,
you know where to come.

"10-metres"
Tony Dixon, G4CJC has the latest on the 10-metre band conditions.
Tony also has a live webcam which, when he is not in the shack, shows
scenes from the street. These are now updated each time any movement
is detected, rather than every 20 seconds as before.

* CGI Programs *
We reported last week that a lot of our CGI programs were lost following
a malicous attack on our ISP's CGI server. All of these programs have now
been restored. Amongst these programs is our CLASSIFIED ADS section.
This is a FREE service, and you can advertise anything you wish, from your
ham radio gear to your entire house. We could do with a little bit of activity
here, so why not take the time to find all of those unwanted items and turn
them into cash. You can even upload photos of your items.

You'll find all this and more at

www.southgatearc.org

We're looking forward to your visit.
