Bob, VK6BE confirmed that it was the same case in VK too.

I wonder when it was taken away as a ham band Bob ?
I believe that amateur radio needs more HF space.
The biggest joke is our 40m band. The situation is outrageous with what
amateurs in europe have endured hrough the last 60 years. I think we should
start to dig our heels in over this one. And of course, we cannot forget
how the Aussie Posse wanted to scupper region 1 access at the last WRC ;-)
10.1Mhz - yep, we need more space. I often find it hard to find a crack to
put a CQ out. We need another 100Khz.
14Mhz - jammed packed here, wall to wall QRM, hardly a crack between stations.
Not helped by certain countries who have a footnote in the radio regs to allow
them to use the band for their own purposes. We need another 100Khz.
18.1Mhz - often jam packed here. We need another 100Khz.
By far the most under utilised band has to be 24.9Mhz, even when conditions
are good.
I'm dreading the sunspot peak. All it means for me is wall to wall QRM
on every band :-(
