Andy and all,
I assume it might be different wherever you are in the UK, but
within our club, N.A.D.A.R.S., quite a few that started with the
FL have progressed to IL and I think one already to Full.
No idea if you were ever attending, or helping out with an FL coarse
and exam, but though operating practice is part of the coarse,
there is no time to teach how to use a set outside the direct
controls used.
So, maybe the coarse should be extended with English and reading
a manual.......?????

Rgs, 73, Angela

PS. Jacqueline M3OWL, my partner/gf, is only operating on club events
as the M3 is not reciprocal in NL, but she's allowed to operate the
club radio. Unfortunately she did not have any opportunity to upgrade
to IL.
