Huh, another politically correct outfit that's taken Christ out of
Christmas! The "season" is winter - there's no reason to offer "season's"
greetings, it's a meaningless term.

I don't recall RSGB offering "season's greetings" when its spring, summer
or autumn. If the RSGB doesn't want to say "Happy Christmas" then they'd
be better to say nothing at all.

Easter occurs in Spring - I don't remember RSGB saying "season's
greetings" when it's Easter. They say "Happy Easter" - they don't try to
pretend it isn't "Easter" like they make "Christmas" an unmentionable
word.

The only reason they say "Season's greetings" is that Christmas falls
during winter, so either say Christmas, or don't bother to say anything.

As Gerard, PE1OUD says:

"Jesus is the reason for the season!"

Someone at RSGB needs "diversity training" to stop them being so offensive
and unthinking to Christians, which on balance will be some 70% of its
declining membership and of UK non-members.

They could always follow the example of the ARRL, which, in its latest
Newsletter didn't even mention the season or Christmas. I guess this is
what people mean when they say "keep religion out of amateur radio".

I'd rather RSGB say nothing than use platitudinous euphemisms.

It's nearly as bad as saying Xmas or "happy winterval".

You can bet your life that RSGB's Radcom magazine will have lots of
adverts imploring members to buy its "Christmas presents". Not too
bashful to use the word to cynically exploit Christmas as a retail
"shopportunity".

Pah!

Talk about "Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled".
