Andy, there are so many certificates and awards that people work towards and
collect, I'm sure that's why the guy on 10mhz wanted the card. Perhaps his
antenna was very marginal and making it across the pond is a rare thing for
him. Anyway, I'm sure you know that... I've been collecting cards since 1974,
and still don't have DXCC in every mode, every country, etc. I don't really
work at it though, I simply track my contacts and maybe ask for a card exchange
when a new combination of mode/band happens to occur. I guess that makes me a
casual DX'r or card collector.
Whatever the case is, if a person tells me that they don't QSL, I'm very
cool with that. Doesn't matter to me, I simply figure I'll run across someone
who does QSL eventually. Everyone is in the hobby for their own reasons,
and I respect that :-)
