Hooray! In contrast to previous years no QRN this time. At long last no
reproachful complaints in this respect. The number of participants increased
promptly, and there was action on the band until the last minute.
The urgently needed improvement of participation from other countries
(only half the percentage compared with OQRPC or HOT-PARTY) suffered from
a "hang fire" at the last moment: Of all things our e-mail provider failed
to deliver those "last minute invitations" addressing potential participants
outside DL, sri.
There were "dethronations" in both categories. DL1ARH artfully managed
apart from winning category A with a clever minimal TRX also to operate class
B using c/s DL0ARN. Not only because of QSO with non-participating stations,
which after all count 1 point, OK1KMX only just ended up front.
The this time bigger portion of category A entries underlines a growing
interest in homebrewing complete small QRP stations, naturally much to the
the delight of the QRP-MAS' initiator.
The generally positive entrants' comments were posted to the Packet Radio
network and to the DL-QRP-AG listserver a week ago. A visit to the QRPCC-
homepage (http://www.qrpcc.de) will yield additional information for QRPers
and homebrewers.
Wishing you a long fine QRP summer,
73/2
"Hal" Hartmut, DJ7ST
