Notes of interest:

6F - Special event station 6F1LM continues to be active through the
     end of the year on the weekend. The special station is to commemo-
     rate the 70th Anniversary of Federacion Mexicana de Radio Experi-
     mentadores (FMRE). Activity is on CW and the Digital Modes (RTTY,
     PSK31, MFSK). All QSL cards only via Bureau!  [TNX OPDX]

HI - Four operators from the Florida DXPedition Group - namely W4WX
     (W4WX/HI9), Clarence W9AAZ (W9AAZ/HI9), Cory N1WON (N1WON/HI9) and
     Bob K9MDO (K9MDO/HI9) - will be active (on all bands, including 6
     metres, CW, SSB, PSK-31 and RTTY) from the Dominican Republic
     (NA-096) on 22-30 October. They will participate in the CQ WW DX
     SSB Contest as HI9X (Multi-Single). QSL HI9X via W9AAZ, QSL
     xxxx/HI9 via home calls. [TNX 425DXN]

KH8- AMERICAN SAMOA. A Multi-national team of DXers will be going to
     American Samoa (KH8) and their operation is expected to start
     October 26th. They will concentrate on Europe when propagation
     allows, thus allowing EU to gain IOTA OC-077 during openings.
     The team is currently studying the propagation forecasts for 160
     meters.The team hopes that they will be able to give the deserving
     KH8 on topband. It is requested that you visit their Web site for
     updated info on propagation conditions from the islands. The team
     intends to activate two islands at the same time (3 operators on
     each island). The islands are Tutuila Island (IOTA OC-045) and Ofu
     Island (IOTA OC-077). Modes of operation will be CW, SSB, RTTY,
     PSK31, SSTV. The dates are as follows:
     October 29th to November 8th (2002) - Activity from Tutuila Island
     October 30th to November 6th (2002) - Activity from Ofu Island
     The team consists of 6 operators:

TI - A large group of operators from Canada and the US (namely AC8G,
     K6GXO, KE6WW, KA7KUZ, K8QOE, N1IZP, N6JRL, N0AT, VE3RZ, W8ILC,
     W8KKF and WA8LOW) will be active from near San Jose, Costa Rica
     for a week beginning 23 October. The principal activity will be
     as a multi-multi entry in the CQ WW SSB contest using TI5N (QSL
     via W3HNK) from the mega station QTH of Keko, TI5KD. Before and
     after the contest, the group expects to have activity on all
     bands from 160 to 6 metres using a variety of modes to include
     PSK31. Calls used will be TI5/homecall with the QSL route being
     the homecall or as announced. [TNX 425DXN]

VE - A large group of operators (namely VE3BY, VE3DXE, VE3CBA, VE3RS,
     VA3RMF, VE3TV, VA3KO, VE3TPZ, VA3RD, VA3ZV, VE3SRE, VE3XAP,
     VE3HAE, VE3KJS, VA3TSG, G3SXE, K8DD, AC8W, N8RA and NB1B) will
     operate from Zone 2 on 21-31 October. Before  the contest they
     will be signing CJ2KCE, CJ2BY and CJ2SRE, while the special VC2C
     call (commemorating the 100th anniversary of the completion of the
     Trans-Pacific Cable,  http://www.pacific-cable.org) will be used
     during and after the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. Before and after the
     contest they will operate on 2 and 6 metres, Satellite, RTTY,
     PSK31, SSTV, CW and WARC bands. QSL CJ2BY via VE3BY, CJ2SRE via
     VE3SRE, CJ2KCE via VA2KCE. QSL VC2C via NB1B or VE3TPZ, either
     direct or through the bureau (stations from the US and Canada
     are requested to use NB1B and VE3TPZ respectively). The website

VP5- Jack/N2VW and Frank/WA2VYA will be active from VP5JM's QTH on
     22-29 October. They will participate in the CQ WW SSB DX Contest
     as VP5T (multi-multi) and plan to operate CW, PSK31, WARC bands
     and maybe 6 metres before and after the contest. QSL via N2VW.
