So long as the set can receive USB you should not have any problem. We use a
similar setup in our office with a small Sony portable shortwave receiver.

Just for interest, the most amazing PSK31 SWL report I got was from a
young lad of 16 who had heard of PSK31, searched for it on the web,
found the software, downloaded it and got it running. The only HF
receiver he had was a direct-conversion receiver with an LC-tuned
oscillator, an NE602, and an op-amp, a popular kit design which he
had built when he was 12 years old, but within 10 minutes he was
copying on 80m. He Emailled me copy of the QSO. It wasn't perfect but
he apologised for that, saying it was difficult to hold his hand
still: he was using hand-capacitance as an RIT control.

Hi Jerry. The 466is does not have a line out. I have tried the speaker
out to my ICOM 735 using the acc1 port on the rig. I did not put in push
to talk yet. I thought I would try it with the vox. I tried with the
resistors suggested then without as someone told me he did not need on
the 735. I am really not too happy with the audio out on the eMachine. It
is quite low. This is the second one I've had as the first new one got
its modem popped by a thunderstorm. They replaced the computer but still
low audio. I guess I need something to perk up the output. Trying to
think if I have something in the junkbox in the way of transformers from
my old phone patch days. I'm not sure Radio shack has an Xformer to do
the job. Have you any ideas.

I also received an E-Mail SWL from a fellow in Belgium not too
long ago. His set up was considerably more sophisticated than what
Peter describes though. That's pretty amazing!
It's good to hear though because I got started in ham radio almost
50 years ago using a similar jury rig and sending out hand made
SWL's. I was thrilled every time someone was thoughtful enough to
respond with a QSL card and 50 years later I'm still in love with
radio. So, do respond to your SWL's it may mean a lot to them.

PhaseShift is a program for operating PSK31 on Linux. It makes use of the
Qt library and is based on the PSK31 code writen by Hansi Reiser, dl9rdz
and Ted Williams, wa0eir.
Changes since version 0.3
- - Fixed CTRL-E hotkey bug
- - Fixed bug when closing log file
- - Implemented semi break-in mode
(as per Peter Martinez suggestion on the psk31 list)
