I have successfully run Digipan on a 486/66 with 32MB running Win98SE,
and have made several QSO's that way. AFC, Net, and Snap are on. Full
Duplex is off. The soundcard is an old SB16. (I also have a Celeron
300A machine, and that is of course just fine.)
Digipan really maxes out the CPU, and doing the logging functions is
very slow. Nevertheless, it does work for me. I'm running nothing else
at the same time, including various insidious background programs. For
instance, if you have MS Office programs, make sure you take
"FastFind" out of the StartUp folder, as every couple of hours it will
churn through all your documents to index them.

Subject: [psk31] Keying with DigiPan
I've been using the G3PLX software with the circuit featured in the
origional May '99 QST article to key the xmtr. That keyed my 706 quite
nicely.
I now am trying to use DigiPan and even though I have selected COM 1 in the
program setup, the xmtr will not key. I have checked and unchecked the Use
RTS box. No affect.
So what's different about this software?

I didn't find any difference. Both DigiPan and the original program key the
transmitter from the Com1 port.
