Thanks to all who answered my message. The night before last (from 0200 -
0300z) I worked KA7W (Tom) in NM on 80, and AG0N (Gary) in NE on 160 - I am
in TN. We were running between 40 and 80 watts with average antennas. There
was no QRM, just some QRN to deal with. I will try to be around again
tonight between 0200 and 0300z, on or about 1838 khz or 3580 khz.

I just downloaded a digital oscilloscope program from
http://polly.phys.msu.su/~zeld/oscill.html it looks good. Anyone with
more experience with scopes than me ever try this software ? I am
interested in how it might be used to check our own TRANSMITTED signals,
especially for PSK31.
The software is FREE

Tnx Andrew,
I downloaded it. It uses the sound card, and is good up to 20Khz. It can
look at
audio signals from the receiver in a setup for PSK31. I looked at a few,
and you can
tell if there is any disortion on them. It will also look at any input
into your sound
card. It has timing and gain controls for two channels. Nice program.
If you have
a second receiver and computer, you can look at your own demodulated audio,
but that won't tell you much. To see your actual transmitted signals, you
need
a scope that goes up to your transmitted freq.; 3.6 Mhz to look at your
signals
on the 80 meter band. A spectrogram like the Spectrogam program or the
display in MixW32 which gives a picture of received signals vs freq is more
useful for PSK31, as it shows sidebands.
____________
Try PSK31. Check: http://aintel.bi.ehu.es/psk31.html
