Subject: [psk31] 160m anyone?
Greetings all,
For some time now I have been rather curious about trying psk31 on 160m to
see how it works in the presence of all the QRN and such. Would anyone
care to make a sked with me on 160m? Now that the nights are starting to
get longer, 160m is beginning to have some potential.
In addition to whatever individual skeds this notice may solicit, I am
currently planning on putting out a high power CQ this coming Friday night
at 11 pm CDT, (0400 UTC Saturday, 25 September 1999).
The frequency will be 1838.150 kHz, my rig will be set to 1837 kHz USB with
an 1150 Hz audio tone. Antenna is a shunt fed 63 foot tower with a large
beam acting as a top hat. I'll try and squeeze a few hundred watts out of
my aged Dentron MLA2500 amp.
I'm located in Greenville, Texas (50 miles NE of Dallas) so both coasts
should have a shot. (Approx. 33° N, 96° W) Am also interested in any SWL
reports which can be sent to:
vmpaul@iname.com
I'll be monitoring my e-mail real time then too.
Will use BPSK, but may also try QPSK some, especially if nobody answers me
for a while.
Hellschreiber is available for this test too, but only if someone
specifically writes and requests it.
There's a chance I might make additional calls at 0300 and 0500.
Anyone else out there interested in 160m psk or am I the only one crazy
enough to want to do this?
Hope to see you on top band!

Hi Folks. I will be giving a demonstration of PSK on Sunday September
26.
This will be at a local event called Radio Rodeo. I will be using
Logger and PSK31, on 10m I do have a backup plan if the band is dead,
but would like to be able to make some contacts on the air. I will
probably be on the air between 11 am and 2 pm, with a break to eat
whenever the grilled chops are done. I hope to see some of you on 10m!

Victor:
I will be listening for your CQ at 0400 UTC Saturday. I only have a
1/4-wavelength antenna on 160 here in New England, but it is worth a try.
