Peter, I think that the slow CPU is getting to you. I run Logger on a
PIII 500 MHz job and it "sings" with no noticeable delays in responses.
Spectrum window tracks completely in real time with receiver tuning. And
that is with other programs minimized, etc. Also, it may be that 128 meg
of RAM plays a role.
Spectral estimation in real time takes a tremendous amount of CPU power.

Remember the "good old days" when the old 12 Mhz 286 machine got
relegated to the shack?

Just a note/precaution on PSK31 macros:

I have found several of the original macros that seem to have problems,
especially those that conclude with $cwid$, etc. In order for the $cwid$
macro to return the system to receive at the end there must be NOTHING
after the last $-sign. If you look at the actual PSK31MAC.db file
contents, you can see that on some of the macros, the $cwid$ is on a
separate line and that some material follows on still another line. This
is causing the problem. Edit the .db file appropriately and you will cure
the problem.

The format of the .db file and its contents is very curious, so be
careful messing with it. Better make a copy named insurance.db or
something similar before trying to edit PSK31MAC.db. There is nothing I
can find in the Help regarding the formatting of macros other than the
definitions of the macros themselves.

Macros seem to end with ^<macroname>0^ after the last element of the
macro where <macroname> matches the name on the button.
