Around 7035.150. Thats the Offical "unoffical" hailing freq. for 40 mtrs.
hihi. Also talked to a fellow in NY who read my email and came down there
hunting me. 40 has always been my favorite band. It gives great regional
coverage with strong solid sigs.

May be suggest him to do it on PSK31 ... less BW, more audience these days
and he can make some money selling the TNC ... :o)

Dear Bob,

On the above, I did get a response from Dave Sumner, but it was a "ho
hum" sort of response which left me with the opinion he could care less!

That's exactly the way DX packet clusters work, y'know.

Is there anything wrong with just hitting the "Reply to All" button on the
toolbar? That's the way it's done in IE.302 or IE4.0.

As I remember it, there is a similar power button in Netscape and in other
e-mail client programs.

What mail program are you using Daryl?

BTW, you never want to even think about asking the List manager to make such a
change. This is a feature that should always be under the control of the
individual e-mail program. Once it is hard wired into a list server's
configuration, then we have all lost our freedom of choice - bad move. I've
seen it on another list (the Westinghouse Retirees Forum, and I hate it.)

or there abouts while working on my old model 19. If
anyone want to try a 40 mtr QSO just CQ a few times.

P.S. I seem to be getting a bunch of posts from the
list from the early part of July. Is it the list
server or Yahoo thats gone bonkers ??

The IC-737 has no vox (one of the reasons it wasn't too popular. Currently
I am doing S/R switching manually, and the pulse modulation occurs when the
transceiver is transmitting. Apparently PSK31SBW does not turn on the
carrier until you typo something, and then drops the carrier when there has
been a gap in the typing. I think the pulse nonsense is suppressed as long
as the audio carrier is coming into the transceiver, but when the carrier
drops the pulsing goes on. I'm going to try some rf suppressors on the
audio line between the computer and the transciever.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It's not Yahoo. I'm getting them too. It must be that something
stirred the archive of the reflector. :-) I just downloaded over 30 of

Not a Y2K problem, but an "A2K" problem. If you look at the
header of these old messages you see that they were originally
sent to <van.daalen@cable.a2000.nl> on July 8th. My guess is
that the a2000.nl server hiccupped and sent these old messages
back to the list.

It shouldn't turn off the carrier, Garry, but should just go Idle, which is the
same power as a two tone test signal. The carrier should not drop until
you manually go to receive, or when you switch PSK31SBW to receive.

Try PSK31.
