After "optimizing" the digesting process it didn't work anymore. Now it works
again, "lost" issues will be available from the WWW homepage.

Hi Gary. I notice that with version 6.07e of logger on my 486DX2-100
that if I leave the spectrum display off, it doesn't lock up, but if I
turn it on the machine locks. However, when it locks, and I do
CRTL-ALT-DEL, it says" PSK.exe not responding". If I end that task, it
closes the tuning display, but the larger PSK window, and logger program
remain open, and I can enter the PSK config window, and use any of
Logger's other functions.

Maybe we can talk Bob (K4CY) into making a version that will run better
on a 486 machine.

As the number of messages increases, directly browsing the list has become
cumbersome. I have installed an indexing aplication that allows to do searches
on the passed messages. So, please, no more "how to link XYZ rig" without
checking before the list :-)

PD: It's at http://aintel.bi.ehu.es/psk31listsearch.html and will be soonly
integrated in the webpage.

Subject: [psk31] Logger V6.07e Minimize and Save

Hi All,
While checking out Logger I noticed that when I minimize the program, the
waterfall and spectrum remain on the screen. You can NOT click on the X. To
get rid of it I have to maximize Logger and then close it down. Is this a bug
or am I doing something wrong?

I also noticed that when I move the windows around as I prefer the spectrum
on the top right and stretch the psk program to fit the entire screen under
the spectrum/waterfall it does not save the windows and I have to redo it
each time I reboot. Just checking out before I notify Bob Furzer. Is this
normal for a windows program?
Tnx for all the help,

I noticed that the tuning windows remain, and I like it that way. you can
casually monitor the frequency for activity while doing something else. I
suspect that Bob did it that way on purpose.

The re-sizing bug has been reported here but I haven't seen any
resolution yet. Maybe is it is 6.08?

I downloaded the program, tried it and got the same results. There was also
a message about not being able to find some file at startup. Forgot which
one it was.

I am running a 486 with a '586' 133MHz chip with 36M of RAM and NT Server
4.0.

I did not like the program. Nothing particular against its overall
appearance, but I do reject the idea of Windows programs being written
outside of common Windows conventions. Please! this is just my opinion and
I hope to offend no one. For instance, I did not care for the method of
"closing" some of the boxes or dialog boxes or whatever they're called here.
When making preference changes, some boxes you click on the little check in
the upper right corner. In others, you click on the X in the upper left
corner. There were no "OK" buttons. It's too easy to work within the normal
Window API.

I read in the readme file that a directory named "Win" is required on the
drive to store some files. I do not have such a directory on this machine.
I can create one, of course, but don't personally believe that I should have
to do such non-standard steps.

Guess it's just my bias, guys. I just don't like non-standard
(unconventional) coding in programs.

I deleted the whole thing. Maybe someone will write a good program of this
sort. It would be nice to have. In the meantime, I'll stick with Peter's
and Al's programs. They may not be as integrated together as we would like,
but they are well written and work well.

Please.. hope no one is mad at me...

I wonder if all the folks trying logger have had the experience where most
of the scope vanishes after a few minutes? This happens all the time with
me, all that is left of the scope is the yellow (or red) line after about 5
minutes.

Marty:

The window resizing issue has already been brought to the attention of Bob,
K4CY. That problem is fixed, and waiting for the next version to be released .

As for the tuning indicators remaining on your screen when the PSK31
window/LOGGER program is minimized, this is NORMAL.

I, too, have experienced that and found out by accident that
right-clicking the mouse while in that area will restore the full phase
circle and the white bars.
