John, download the latest version of the Logger program.
Got to

		http://www.itis.net/golist

It contains a PSK31 module and Version 6.07c will contain a tuning
indicator like Peter's program plus a spectrum display.

I've been a long term supporter of the unattended operations on all
modes, and did it for years, well before it was legal (like many
others). I have no problem with them being there. Sheesh, they were
there first! My problem is with the dirty signals that seem to dominate
the pactor crowd these days. The majority of the pactor signals have rf
feed back on them, a bunch of clicking hash that (sometimes) takes up
several khz of spectrum, and poorly nulled carriers that show up 2khz
away from the operation. I think these stations should be removed from
the air.

By the way, I still hear people on psk daily who I told months ago they
had audio harmonics 1khz up and down from their psk signals. They don't
seem to care. I don't understand the reason for it when it is so simple
to cure. I got tired of telling them, and they probably got tired of
hearing it. Therefore, I listen now and then, but rarely get on. It's
too frustrating.

In case some have forgotten that thread, the cure for the audio
harmonics is to set the audio frequency in psk31 to a high enough
frequency that the harmonic is outside the bandpass of the ssb filter of
your transmitter. Many have set theirs to 2khz. Anything over about
1.5khz will work, assuming a less than 3khz wide filter. Remember,
don't turn your speaker off when you give someone a report. The
waterfall won't tell you if the guy has rf feedback or audio harmonics.
You still have to use your ears (and wide filter) to detect that stuff.

Sorry for jumping on the bandwagon, but my trigger got tripped. ;o)
I'll crawl back in the hole for awhile.
