I am just loading Mandrake 7.1 onto the PC , and will TRY to learn the
LINUX hi! I am using the NTNET,  but it hogs a lot of memory.... 
after one day with NTNET online, I can not open any windows
applications :-(

But it is great software. Is that a TNC3 you have with 2 ports?
I hear much about 'Vanessa' cards..... who is she?! We do not see them
here in the UK..... are they like the USCC Baycom???

Nope. With a TNC3 you don't need a PC to run (X)NET, it can run
standalone. There is a lot of Vanessa related info at
http://www.swiss-artg.ch/vanessa/
Unfortunately in German. Hope you have somebody near you to translate.

Doubt that you can do this, most eproms you can fit are for TNC2
compatibles only  which this MFJ is not.... sorry. The earlier non
multimode version IS , however.
