Subject: Kenwood D700 Question

I have a D700 and I am getting a new car next week. I really want to mount
the radio in the trunk but thats where the MIC connector is. The connector
sure looks like a standard RJ45 jack/plug. Anyone here try making an
extension cable for the MIC with success?
